Surrounded by the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, St Lucia is a haven for nature lovers. Enjoy endless summer days soaking up the sun, swimming or snorkeling on Cape Vidal beach, exploring the Eastern and Western Shores Big 5 game reserves, hiking through the forested trails or boating on the Lake St Lucia Estuary.
Deep sea fishing can be done and during June to November the Whale tours are a huge attraction.
Mountain biking and trail running is a firm favourite in the nature surrounds. Birding is a definite highlight. Or an epic walk up the Maphelane dune, the 2nd highest forested dune in the world. The main street has a vibrant atmosphere with surf, beach and outdoor shops, restaurants, cafes and tour shops.
St Lucia town is small with quick access to everything. Two to five minutes by car or 5-20mins on foot to anywhere you need to be. It is an easy walk to the main street in town where you will find all the shops and restaurants you need. Tour operators will pick you up to take you on your excursions and activities. Or bring your own bicycles to make exploring your exercise.
