We are ideally located above the quaint maritime village of historical Simon’s Town, close to bucket list attractions including Boulders Beach and the African Penguin Colony, Cape Point and the Table Mountain Nature Reserve, Chapmans Peak and more. Albatross House boasts spectacular and uninterrupted views of the historic Simons Town naval Harbour, False Bay and the mountains beyond. This family owned and run guest house is situated in Simons Kloof a tranquil, residential area within proximity to the town centre and activities, but far enough removed to afford one the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle. All our units are individually decorated, bright and sunny with thoughtful home away from home touches, private entrances, and spacious sea view balconies. The bathrooms have either a bath or shower and include free toiletries. Free WIFI is available throughout and secure off-street parking too. When booking a two-bedroom apartment, a private lounge, dining area and little kitchen create the perfect self-catering home away from home. A continental breakfast can be arranged upon request to enjoy either on the balcony or as a to go picnic as you explore the diverse activities on our doorstep. We are conveniently situated only a short drive from the main town and harbour, where numerous restaurants, shops, museums, and galleries are located. You are spoilt for choice with an incredible diversity of activities to choose from right from our doorstep. We are talking historical, spectacular hiking and trail running, scuba, free or rock pool diving and snorkelling, Water Bikes, fishing and so much more. Simon’s Town is a small coastal town situated on the false bay coast on the Cape Peninsula. It is the gateway to Cape Point Nature Reserve also known as the Cape of Good Hope, a UNESCO world heritage site, which forms part of the Cape Floral Kingdom. Simon’s Town is best known for Boulders beach, famous for its ancient granite boulders and endangered African Penguin Colony. This colony is, one of the only breeding colonies on the African mainland. Furthermore, Simon’s Town is a fantastic base from which to go shark cage diving and whale watching and exploring the rest of the Marine Big 5. Every year between June and November, the Southern Right Whale migrates from Antarctica to South Africa to breed and give birth to their young. The Great White Shark, one of the Apex predators of the ocean, can be seen breaching during the winter months.
Simon’s Town is not only one of the oldest towns in South Africa, but also the oldest Naval town and was established as a winter anchorage point for the Dutch Navy. Today it is a bustling hub of cafes and boutique shops. It remains a firm favourite among locals and tourists alike. The town offers plenty of unique experience and one will need more than just a day to explore it all.
