Anchorage Inn is situated in an upmarket safe neighbourhood in Montagu, where quiet nights guarantee a good night's sleep, leaving you recharged for the day ahead. We are however within easy walking distance to the most popular restaurants and shops in town. Accommodation is offered in the Nguni Cottage and Indlovu Deluxe Suite, each with their own unique character, private entrance, and free Wi-Fi internet access. The Nguni Cottage draws its name from the indigenous Nguni cattle, with some Nguni skins as mats, this open-plan unit is cheerful and bright. Winter sunshine streams in through large windows, and in summer the air-conditioner brings welcome relief. The cottage can accommodate up to 3 guests and has a main bedroom with a king-size bed, an additional single bedroom, and a bathroom with a bath and shower. It has a lounge area with a dining table and large couch and a well-equipped kitchenette. The cottage has a small private patio with a charcoal-only weber braai. The Indlovu Cottage is a romantic unit with a distinct ‘Out of Africa’ feeling. A large original painting of an African elephant, or “Indlovu” in isiZulu, is a commanding presence in the lounge. The traditional thatch roof creates a cool interior, even in the hottest of summer months. The large overhead fan adds further comfort and atmosphere. The bedroom contains twin three-quarter beds, and the modern bathroom contains a large walk-in shower. The suite has a small kitchenette equipped with basic amenities, a dining and lounge area with a TV and 1 x single bed couch. The cottage has a small private patio with a charcoal-only weber braai.

Montagu is a small scenic town known to be the historical link between Cape Town, Oudtshoorn, the Garden Route and the Eastern Cape. As the gateway to the Klein Karoo and part of Route 62, Montagu is a remarkably beautiful town with so much to offer its visitors.
Montagu is one of the top rock climbing destinations in the world! Surrounded by fabulous rock formations, energetic rock climbers flock here to experience the thrill of climbing. The tourism office in town is the perfect place to collect maps and information on where to find the climbing points.
Walking around this interesting town is a history and art lesson rolled into one. National monuments and architecturally appealing buildings abound, providing visitors with a “complete” experience. Stop off at the many coffee shops, farm stalls and restaurants to taste the delicious local delights. Montagu is known for its healing hot springs.
