AtTheDairyShed

Nestled on a charming small farm in a picturesque green valley, just 12 km from the agricultural town of Heidelberg in the Western Cape, AtTheDairyShed offers comfortable self-catering accommodation in a serene setting. Each cottage boasts beautiful views of the mountains and farm from nearly every room and is tastefully decorated to enhance your stay. Rose Cottage: This cosy yet comfortable cottage features two en-suite bedrooms, accommodating up to four guests. The open-plan lounge and kitchen area includes a breakfast counter and a sliding window that opens to an outdoor bar/counter area, providing convenience and an inviting indoor-outdoor ambiance. The pool, with its wood-fired heater, offers breathtaking mountain views. Granny's Cottage: This luxurious cottage comprises two bedrooms and two bathrooms (one en-suite). The open-plan kitchen and lounge lead out to a patio furnished with comfortable seating. The pool, also with a wood-fired heater, provides stunning views of the valley and mountains. While the maximum occupancy is four, there is an option to rent the annex, which sleeps an additional two guests and includes an en-suite bathroom. Guests are welcome to explore the farm on foot or with their own mountain bikes. The area is rich with birdlife, and while birds can be spotted from the cottages, the ravine offers an excellent vantage point for birdwatchers. Hiking is another delightful activity on the farm, with a few clear paths to explore. Given the farm’s undulating terrain, we recommend collecting a two-way radio before embarking on your walk, ensuring you can contact us if assistance is needed. The farm borders a river where swimming is allowed. The river features varying depths and brown water. As the bottom is not easily visible unless the sun shines directly on the water, diving is not permitted. Guests should exercise caution when entering and exiting the water due to loose rocks.
