Blueberry Hill Cottages

The Blueberry Hill Cottages are luxury self-catering cottages with exceptional mountain views that look out over a merlot vineyard. The cottages are located on the Blueberry Hill Farm at the foot of the Middagkrans mountain in the heart of the Franschhoek valley. Richard and Silvana Atkinson own and manage the Blueberry Hill Farm and Cottages. The newly renovated Olive and Lavender cottages have three bedrooms and two bathrooms with updated modern furnishings plus woodburning stoves for cold winter nights. Each house has an en-suite main bedroom. In addition, you can prepare healthy meals in modern kitchens with freshly sourced ingredients from our organic vegetable garden. The luxurious master suites have views across the Franschhoek Valley including the outdoor entertainment area, vineyard and 11-metre rim-flow pool. Pool loungers on the wooden deck allow for relaxing sunbathing all day long.

The farm is situated at the end of a quiet country lane only 20 minutes walk from the centre of Franschhoek.

There are lots of award-winning restaurants to choose from in Franschhoek. These are some of our personal favourites. For smarter dining options there is Foliage, Ruebens, Le Coin Francais or Le Lude. Every-day eat-out options, French Connection, The Grill Room, Hussars Grill and Allora. The picnic at Boschendal is also fun for a lunchtime meal in a relaxed setting under the trees. Also, our favourite brunch choice is Cafe Bon Bon.

For those who like cars, Richard, your host, recommends a visit to the Franschhoek Motor Museum which has a stunning collection of motor cars, vintage, classic, formula 1 and modern supercars. The museum also has a coffee shop and offers tours, this can be combined with a wine tasting at the La Ormarins farm.
