Bonne Esperance is between 119 to 126 years old having been built in 1897 or 1904 and has been lovingly restored and repaired to bring the grand old dame back to life, offering lovely self-catering studios and en-suite rooms, surrounded by mountains and sea, ready for you to explore. Situated in the main house, guests have a choice of booking Room 1 - Grand Room which enjoys views of False Bay, the mountain and the garden, or Room 2 - Penguin Hedge which overlooks the neighbouring garden with a hedge where penguins regularly nest during the season. Room 3 - Old Dining Room has a lovely courtyard view and mountain view from the bathroom. The rooms can be booked separately or together for a group or family and share the fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and parlour with a cosy fireplace, and a deck. Each of the lovely rooms is furnished with king-size beds and has en-suite bathrooms with showers, and linen and towels are provided. The rooms have Oregon pine floors, cosy seating nook to admire the views, tea-and-coffee-making facilities and private bathrooms with showers. For added comfort, each of the rooms has a Victorian fireplace and a workstation as well as Wi-Fi. Three studios, each with a private kitchenette, are situated in the annex portion of the house and are the perfect accommodation for an individual or couple who are exploring the Cape Peninsula. Studio 2 is furnished with a king-size bed, a full en-suite bathroom and views of the courtyard and mountain. Studio 3, overlooking the courtyard, and Studio 4 with its mountain, garden and courtyard views, contain queen-size beds and have en-suite shower-only bathrooms. The studio kitchens are equipped with a 2-plate gas stove, microwave, fridge, and tea and coffee facilities. Each of the studios is situated off the Sunning Plaza, a large courtyard accessed from the back of the house. Guests have access to free parking, braai facilities and the communal swimming pool. For convenience laundry and a cleaning service is available on request during your stay. Bonne Esperance has a solar system and does not experience loadshedding with uninterrupted Wi-Fi. Rainwater is harvested from the roof and supplies the toilet and is sometimes brown in color and greywater is filtered and collected for laundry and showers. Strict waste management is required due to the baboons who share the landscape, and guests are asked to follow instructions.

Simon's Town is a charming, naval village with many interesting historical buildings, museums, antique shops, quaint coffee houses and restaurants. It is. Simon’s Town is a walking-friendly town but it is advisable to hire a car if you’d like to explore the Cape Peninsula.
