Fairway Lodge
Fairway Lodge is a small intimate Guest House offering home-like, accommodation after a hard day`s work and travel. It is easy to access from the N2 road. Our Guest House is situated in the tranquil town of Pongola (Zululand, Northern KwaZulu-Natal and very close to numerous Game Farms and reserves including, Mkuze Game Reserve, Pongola Game Reserve, Sodwana National Park, and Jozini Dam. Dinner and Breakfast are optional and can be booked and enjoyed at Elegant Lodge Pongola. Dinner has to be pre-booked before 12h00 noon.
Area Info
Pongola is a small village in the foothills of the Lebombo Mountains, only 10 km from the Swaziland border. Encircled by 50 km² of sugarcane and subtropical fruit plantations, Pongola is rich in the history of the Anglo and Zulu Boer Wars. The Pongolapoort or Jozini Dam, a nearby 9-hole golf course, and game ranches and lodges are among the tourist attractions; it is only 270 kilometres from the southern gates of Kruger Park. Pongola is situated on the N2, sandwiched between the Phongolo River and the Swaziland border. The name "the trough" refers to the long, deep ponds with steep sides.
This river is crucial to the region since it supplies water to the pans during flood season and sustains a population of fish, crocodiles and hippos.
