Whether a sedentary nature lover, or more active and looking to paddle, cycle or swim, or just a foodie wanting to explore the gastronomic wonders and charming streetscapes of nearby Stanford village, you’ll wonder why it’s taken so long.

Walker Bay is known for its champagne air. Spookhuis, in the centre, is a meeting point of mountain and sea, with spectacular marine life, a pristine 17 km beach, our special brand of fynbos, fabulous bird life, and archeological caves.
It is known as one of the best places in the world for land based whale watching. Southern Right Whales migrate from Antarctica to our shores from June - December to mate and calf. Being adjacent to the Walker Bay Beach, our guests enjoy whale watching from secluded white sandy beaches and sand dunes.
Just down the road is Gansbaai, the place for close encounters with great whites while cage shark diving. Hermanus also offers paragliding, golf and several craft markets.
We are part of the Overberg Wine Region, the southern most wine area on the continent. It is "off the beaten path" and with Hamilton Russell, Bouchard Finlayson and others, is producing some of the county's finest wines. Springfontein Winery is right next door.
