Croc's Nest Bush Lodge

This beautiful riverside spot is situated in Marloth Park along the Crocodile River, hugging the world-famous Kruger National Park, and offers a truly unique experience! Located in a nature conservancy, we are nestled in the bush, and with no perimeter fencing the wildlife is free to roam amongst the properties giving you unique interactions with some of Africa’s best-loved creatures. This is what makes this place so special. Croc’s Nest Bush Lodge is a stilted wooden, 3-bedroomed, 4-bathroom, eco-friendly bush house, beautifully positioned to offer the most spectacular views of the Crocodile River and the world-famous Kruger National Park beyond. Croc’s Nest has solar water heaters, tree lights and a backup generator in case of any electricity disruptions so there is always power at the house. On your morning walk, it would be no surprise to walk past a herd of zebra or a tower of giraffes, or you could relax in the comfort of the lodge and let nature come to you. Marloth is home to many wildlife species including kudu, wildebeest, warthog, impala, bushbuck and more. Expect visits by some of Marloth’s smaller creatures, such as banded mongoose, lesser and greater bushbabies and vervet monkeys.

This beautiful riverside spot presents a rich variety of woodland and riverine birdlife. There is the possibility of spotting many birds native to Kruger Park, of which there are over 500 species. A few minutes’ walk takes you to Marloth Park’s ‘Bee-Eater’ bird hide providing closer views of the river’s visitors. For those who prefer to stay put enjoying a morning coffee, the house’s decks afford excellent viewing of the birdlife, and game, frequenting the immediate surroundings.

For the wildlife enthusiast, there is a wealth of plains game roaming around Marloth Park many of which pay daily visits, including giraffe, zebra, kudu, warthog, impala, bushbuck, monkey, waterbuck, wildebeest, mongoose and many others. Having a sundowner as another sun sinks over the river is a breathtaking experience. Late evening you may see our resident bushbabies leaping through the trees, complemented by sounds of crickets, wallowing hippos, the African fish eagle and the woodland kingfisher, this truly is a unique experience not to be missed!

Overlooking the river from the deck, the eco-home has solar heaters, a generator and a plunge pool. The rooms contain king-size and single beds with en-suite showers and an outdoor shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and the home opens to a deck.
