Cussonia Cottage
With unrivaled, stunning views of the Iron Crown and Wolkberg mountains, Cussonia Cottage is embraced by beautiful, indigenous “Mountain Cabbage” Trees that gives Cussonia Cottage its name. Sitting on a high hilltop, Cussonia Cottage is on a working timber farm. The vistas look down over mixed indigenous montane forest as well as pine and gum plantations and all the way to Haenertsburg in the distance. These rare pockets of indigenous forest are frequented by rare species such as Samango monkey, Longcrested eagle, duiker and bushbuck. Guests are free to wander and walk around the farm’s gardens, wild grassland, plantations and indigenous forest. Birdwatchers are in for a treat as the gardens are often visited by Knysna Louries, Double-collared Sunbird, and more rarities.
