Fouriesburg is a town located in the Thabo Mofutsanyana region of Free State Province in South Africa. This town is situated 12 km from Lesotho and has a fantastic view of the Maluti Mountains. Fouriesburg was established in 1982 on a farm named Groenfontein and is named after its owner, Christoffel Fourie, who donated a portion of his farm for use as a temporary capital during the Second Boer War. It was the site of several engagements during the Boer War.
