Die Laaitjie
*Die Laaitjie is ideal for an escape from the city - only a 2-hour drive from Cape Town. Three fully equipped two-bedroomed cottages, and a main house with 3 bedrooms. *A long, scenic gravel road leads to Die Laaitjie, a 330-working farm that produces fruit and wine in the hand-crafted 'methode ancienne' manner. The farm is situated alone in a bowl made by the surrounding mountains. 25 Ha of the farm consists of peach, pear and apricot trees, all of which fill the valley with colourful blossoms during the spring months The mountains themselves are crisscrossed with hiking, walking and horse-riding trails suitable for all levels of expertise. Enjoy a gentle stroll to the river before breakfast, or spend a whole day exploring the ravines. Horse-trailing can be arranged in conjunction with a neighbouring farm specialising in horses *The style of all these houses is simple and monastic, mostly decorated in an all-white, serene manner. All the houses have stoeps, an internal fireplace, as well as an external braai.
