Little Brak River is a settlement in Garden Route District Municipality in the Western Cape province of South Africa. A seaside resort and town at the mouth of the Little Brak River from which it takes its name.
The village is a natural bird sanctuary. Little Brak is a paradise of sea, lagoon and river, set in between Mossel Bay and Great Brak River. The Little Brak lagoon is within walking distance from most accommodations and is ideal for some canoeing. During the whale migration season - (June to November), visitors can enjoy some whale watching.
Little Brak is great for fishing and you can expect to catch some Elf, Kob, or Garrick. Or take a trip upriver, and catch some freshwater fish. The river is navigable for about twenty kilometres and teeming with fish, which means there is excellent boating, fishing and canoeing to be done.
Being situated within a natural bird sanctuary, bird watching in this area is spectacular. Birdlife is rich and varied, providing avid bird watchers hours of pleasure.
