Eight Bells Mountain Inn
Eight Bells Mountain Inn is a proudly South African-owned and family-run resort hotel set in a picturesque mountain landscape at the foot of the Robinson Pass in the Outeniqua Mountains outside of Mossel Bay. We are a full-service four-star hotel set on a beautiful 160-hectare estate with an on-site restaurant as well as a variety of amenities and outdoor recreation facilities (hiking, horseback riding, squash, tennis, swimming, bowling green, and more!). We have 25 rooms – ranging from standard en-suite rooms and family units to log cabin-style chalets and thatched rondavels. Our beautiful gardens and mountain views make for an idyllic locale for weddings, special occasions, family reunions, or retreats! Eight Bells was established more than 90 years ago, so we have strong ties to our history and traditions. This is reflected in our unique old-world charm and authentic countryside aesthetic. We aim to blend our traditions and charm with modern comforts and four-star amenities and service to create a unique hotel experience. Eight Bells exudes nostalgia and comfort, a “home away from home” for many, and offers a serene place to relax and reset.
Area Info
Eight Bells is set at the foot of the Robinson Pass located between Mossel Bay (35km) and Outdshoorn (50km). From here, you can take a quick drive to the beaches of Mossel Bay or over the mountains to the Klein Karoo. In our local region of Ruiterbos, we have a butterfly sanctuary, petting zoos, a gin distillery, a heavy draft horse farm with guided tours, and an abundance of hiking trails and birding opportunities!
