Elephant Walk Retreat

Set on a tranquil estate at the Crocodile Bridge entrance to the Kruger National Park, no more than 50 meters from the gate, one could not hope to find a more suitable base from which to explore the wonders of Kruger! A comfortable four-hour drive from Johannesburg, Elephant Walk is the perfect 'stopover' en-route to Mozambique, or as a destination. This superb privately owned retreat caters for the discerning tourist and business traveller. All accommodation is fully equipped for self-catering. We have 1 and 2 bedroomed chalets and log cabins available, sleeping from 3 to 6 adults. Very comfortable with lovely, rustic atmosphere and stunning views.

Area Info

Southern Kruger is bordered in the South with the Crocodile River. There are two main entrance gates to Kruger in the South. The one being Malelane gate and the other Crocodile Bridge. Elephant Walk Retreat is situated 50 metres from Crocodile Bridge Gate.

The main rest camps in the South of Kruger are Skukuza, Lower Sabie, Crocodile Bridge, Pretoriuskop and Berg and Dal.

In Southern Kruger you are likely to see the "Big 5", a term which refers to the 5 most dangerous animals to hunt. The "Big 5" comprises of: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino and Buffalo. One may be lucky enough to see wild dog or cheetah, both very rare in Kruger yet frequently spotted in the Crocodile Bridge area.
