The historic Kruger House Lodge is a charming facility with six luxurious en-suite rooms accommodating up to 12 guests. A well-equipped kitchen, dining room, lounge, and indoor braai area makes for a delightful social space. The lodge’s large outside patio offers views of well stocked fish ponds, rolling hills teeming with wildlife and breathtaking vistas of the Komati River Valley leading all the way into eSwatini in the distance. Other self-catering options include a fully equipped cottage and chalet that provide comfort and privacy. Each unit features a kitchen, dining- and living areas, veranda or deck, and braai facilities. Guests love these two units, a true "Heidi-like" hideaway in the mountains. Four hiking camps: Pongola Express Railway Coach camp features a beautifully preserved 1911 railway sleeper- and dining coach. The Aloe Kaya camp delicately placed between sandstone rock formations boasts the much spoken about "Loo's with a view" and "Open air canyon showers". Candlewood camp overlooks the Uitkomst waterfafall (aka The Legendary Bride's leap fall) at 85 meters the second tallest in Mpumalanga. Mt Komati is the most sophysticated of the four camps with its stone under thatch huts situated on the banks of the Komati river. Located on this 2000 ha property is the High5 Hiking Trail, a network of more than 60 kilometers worth of some of the best inland hiking trails in South Africa! Hikers of all ages, fitness- and experience levels can embark on these trails. They have been professionally laid out, and built, and can be tailored to create the perfect option for each group whether beginner or highly fit and experienced. History filled with myth and legend attracts visitors from all over. Escarp Adventures is located on the historic Skurweberg mountain, part of the Mpumalanga Drakensberg Escarpment between eN-tokozweni (Machadodorp) and eManzana (Badplaas), South Africa.

This property belonged to President Paul Kruger and his very own house now is the Kruger House lodge. Legends like that of the "Kruger millions" gold coins that were stashed in the area during the Anglo Boer war, the "Bride's leap falls" of the bride that actually went down the waterfall in her wedding gown, the "ancient stone circle ruins" and "Adam's calendar" all still being told and visitors to the area love exploring the footsteps of these. Machadodorp even was the capital of the Republic back in the day.

Adventure seekers are attracted by activities that include rock climbing, mountain biking, paragliding, trail running, hiking trails, fly fishing, bass and carp angling, zip-lining, scooting, quad biking, horse riding, water skiing and scuba diving to name a few.

Built in old railway compartments these dorm rooms have bunk beds and shared bathrooms with showers. A wide, covered verandah and indoor dining area links the coaches with a shared kitchen so this area provides a socialising space.

Aloe Kaya hikers huts

Set in a dorm room, guests sleep on a bunk bed with mattress and fitted sheet. There is a communal ablution with hot showers, and a shared kitchen with fridge, 2-plate stove, braai facilities and kitchen utensils crockery and cutlery.

Candlewood hikers camp

Tarentaal Chalet

This thatch chalet has 1 bedroom, a loft room, 1 bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The bedroom has a double bed. The loft room has 2 single beds. There are 2 extra single beds in the living area. The kitchen is fully equipped.

Kudu Cottage

This thatched cottage has 2 bedrooms, a loft room, 1 bathroom, and an open plan fully equipped kitchen, dining and living area. The 1st bedroom has a double bed. The 2nd bedroom and loft room each have 2 single beds. Outside, is a verandah and braai area.

Kruger House Lodge

The historic lodge sleeps 12 guests total, 8 guests in 4 en-suite rooms in the main building, and 4 guests in the two en-suite wing rooms.The kitchen, dining room and indoor braai form 1 large entertainment space where everyone shares in the enjoyment.
