Herold Meander Country House
Nestled in the serene hamlet of Herold, Herold Meander offers a secluded escape where peace and tranquillity come naturally. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, it’s the perfect retreat for hiking, mountain biking, and birdwatching, far from the hustle and bustle of city life. The charming farmhouse features three rooms. Our Large Family Room consists of 3 rooms inside the farmhouse. The rooms consist of 2 bunk beds, 2 single beds, and a double bed and share a bathroom with the rest of the house. The Family Room comprises two bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Room 1 has two double beds, and room 2 has a single bed. Our Master Suite is fitted with a double bed and a full en-suite bathroom with a shower and corner bath. The stoep, complete with patio furniture and braai facilities, is ideal for memorable evenings. Guests have access to the communal kitchen, lounge, and dining room and can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, free parking, BBQ facilities, and an on-site coffee shop for meals.
Area Info
The little hamlet of Herold lies almost halfway between George and Oudtshoorn, offering not only peaceful tranquillity and serene contemplation but also access to both the coastal and inland attractions of the Klein Karoo, Garden Route and Langkloof.
The area overflows with outdoor activities such as birdwatching, hiking, fishing, camping and mountain biking and there are also guided hikes up the nearby Cradock and George mountain peaks. Some of the original village buildings of Herold are now incorporated on one of the guest farms in Herold, whilst the remains of what was once the blacksmith’s shop, which dates back to the 1860s, are visible from the Montagu Pass.
