Heuwelsig Cottages and Franschhoek Camping offers lavish, self-catering cottages and a boutique style camping sites, with farm ambience, breathtaking view and memorable sunsets. All this just 5 km outside the well-known village of Franschhoek, about an hour drive from Cape Town. Set in a unique location, against the shade of the Franschhoek Mountains, accommodation comprises of three luxurious self-catering cottages and eight separately fenced campsite, each with private ablutions and two campsite, with newly build, shared ablution. Come and enjoy a home away from home experience in luxury and tranquil surroundings, where all self-catering units are equipped with comfortable king size beds, the finest white linen, fluffy white towels, ensuite bathrooms, kitchen or just kitchenette, smart TV (Netflix only), Wi-Fi, private entrance and secure parking. We offer 80% solar back-up and the lights will be on during loadshedding. The campsite is designed for motorhomes, but small caravans (no double axis) and rooftop tents are welcome. Our campsites can accommodate 2 adults each, situated on grass and has a built gazebo for shade (see room description for more detail). They offer private ablutions, electrical points, water tap, portable BBQ facilities (bring own grid) and Wi-Fi at the hotspot. Solar back-up at the ablutions only during loadshedding. No pets, no ground tents or ground sheets are allowed. Some campsites are adults only, so please make sure before making a reservation. Children by special arrangement only and they must be 10 years or older. Maximum stay for camping are 7 days only. KolKol hot tubs can be rented, as an extra and need to be arranged at least 24 hour before arrival, via WhatsApp. Subject to availability. To cool down in the hot summer days, there is a sparkling fenced eco-pool at the bottom of the garden. Here one can simply relax and watch the world go by, while lounging on the deck chairs, sipping on a drink and watching the sunset. Safe parking is available on the premises. Nearby activities include horse riding, fishing, bird watching, wine tasting, cycling, game viewing, guided walks and mountain biking.

Franchhoek originated from the French Huguenots, who settle here in the 17th century, bringing with them the culture and charm from Europe.
Today Franschhoek, which means “French Corner”, is a vibrant town offering wine tasting, chocolate tasting, beer tasting, five star cuisines, an abundance of different artists and small boutiques for shopping, all surrounded by majestic mountains and beautiful scenery.
