Highland Gate 769 is a lovely double-storey villa in the Highland Gate Golf & Trout Estate, 18 km outside Dullstroom right next to the 6th hole on the Ernie Els golf course. This self-catering villa boasts beautiful views of the cliffs and landscape. The home comprises 3 bedrooms upstairs with 2 bathrooms and 1 en-suite bedroom downstairs. The main bedroom offers a queen-size bed, a cosy fireplace for those cold wintery nights and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath and a shower. The second and third bedrooms are each furnished with 2 single beds and share a bathroom fitted with a shower and a bath. Downstairs, the fourth bedroom has a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom containing a bath. The main living area consists of a spacious lounge with a TV, a dining area with an indoor BBQ/braai area and a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, cutlery and crockery. Along with every amenity necessary for self-catering, the kitchen also features a separate scullery with a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer for guests’ convenience. There are several board games, and puzzles, including a table tennis table for entertainment. Access to free Wi-Fi is available. Outside, is a lovely spacious patio where guests can enjoy a sundowner or use the Weber braai. There are 2 garages available. The estate has an 18-hole golf course, a lovely restaurant and the most beautiful hiking and biking trails. Guests are encouraged to visit the town of Dullstroom where guests can walk around and enjoy the many delicacies the town has to offer.

Dullstroom is a natural paradise and offers exceptional panoramas of mountains and wildflowers. This makes for a wide and varied birdlife in the area - good sightings of all three species of crane extant in South Africa are possible. There is also a bird of prey rehabilitation centre with daily displays near the town which is well worth visiting. The surrounding area also offers an opportunity for entertaining day trips - Sabie, Graskop and Pilgrims Rest are all within driving distance. Pilgrims Rest offers interesting historical sights and Graskop is the home of the renowned Harrie's Pancake restaurant! The more immediate surroundings of Dullstroom offer opportunities for horse riding and visiting working farms - like the Pendle Hill Dairy. This farm sells a range of purely organic produce to excellent gifts for the family back home! Dullstroom is also home to a thriving cultural scene - there are some small art studios and galleries with quirky and excellent art on show.
The most famous Dullstroom attraction of all, however, is fishing. Dullstroom is renowned for its great trout streams and scenic fishing spots. Enthusiasts from across South Africa travel to this town to fish, the well-stocked rivers and dams teeming with Rainbow and Brown trout. A valid Mpumalanga Angling License is required to fish in the public dams - of which there are two.
