The cottage is located in a beautiful garden, bordering natural forest where the birdlife is prolific and the peaceful quiet of the forest and birds can be heard. The cosy Two-bedroom cottage is situated 100 m off the main tarred road, on an old railway line access road and is located on a working flower farm. Take a mindful drive down the forested track to our beautiful property. This cottage is situated in the Winterskloof Conservancy where nature lovers and birders can enjoy the quiet and peaceful surrounds but still have the convenience of all Hilton's amenities just a few minutes away. The cottage has 2 bathrooms , 2 bedrooms, has a well-equipped kitchen and open-plan living area which opens up onto the patio and braai area with outdoor seating. Secure parking and Wifi is available at both cottages. Hilton is a small town, incorporated into the Howick municipality, which lies just above Pietermaritzburg in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands. Slightly cooler than Pietermaritzburg, Hilton is known for its spectacular flora and the first views of the Drakensberg.
The town has a distinct English-country feel to it, mixed with an interesting sense of history and tradition. Lying at the start of the Midlands Meander, Hilton provides the perfect stop-over to enjoy the route. There are plenty of arts and crafts stalls and restaurants serving first-class meals.
In September every year, the Hilton Arts Festival is held, hosted by Hilton College and spreads out over nine venues – a delight for locals and visitors.
Many school sport festivals are held in Hilton each year.
The annual Comrades Marathon starts/finishes in Pietermartizburg.
Midmar dam hosts the annual Midmar Mile.
