Horseshoe Game Reserve
Horseshoe Game Reserve is an eco-friendly, self-catering, off-the-grid establishment situated 25 km from East London. The accommodation is secluded and tucked away on a hillside overlooking a valley and hiking or self-drives are permitted. Guests have a choice of staying in the cabin or one of the tent camps which are located in the valley or near the river. The cosy 4-sleeper cabin offers 2 rooms that are furnished with double and twin beds and have en-suite bathrooms with showers. Regrettably, hairdryers cannot be used. The open-plan living area has a kitchenette equipped with a gas stove, fridge and microwave and comfortable seating in the lounge. A braai area, covered deck and secure parking are available. The tents are furnished with a combination of double, single and bunk beds and linen and towels are provided. The tent camps are unfenced and built on decks surrounded by bush with views of the river, valley or mountain. The tents are fitted with 12V lighting only and do not have charging points. The communal kitchen is equipped with a 12V socket for charging, a gas stove, a camping refrigerator and basic utensils, cutlery and crockery. Each campsite has a communal ablution block with gas geysers, hot-water showers and toilets. Braai wood can be purchased on arrival and free unguided hiking can be done, as well as self-drives. Please note, that a high-clearance vehicle is recommended to reach Horseshoe Game Reserve. If you do not drive a high clearance vehicle, please enquire about the road conditions before arrival.
