Situated just south of St Francis Bay, is the rustic village of Cape St Francis, with surfing, body boarding, and sun tanning the order of the day. Seal Point is a popular surfing destination, and the beach the playground for kite surfers. The nature areas are waiting to be explored on foot and the many rock pools offer fascinating insight into life in the tidal zone. Many protected spots on the rocky coastline is the ideal picnic spot, even on windy days. Sunset rock to the west is the place to be later afternoon, as sunsets are never twice the same.
The beach leads your eyes to the Cape St Francis lighthouse, built in 1878, to warn ships of the dangerous reefs that stretch more then a kilometer out to sea. Standing 27,5m tall, it is the highest mason structure in Southern Africa.
