Accommodation is offered in five rooms inside the main building. Four of the five rooms have en-suite bathrooms and the fifth one has a bathroom exclusively for guests occupying this room. The Red, Blue, Grey, Purple and Green Rooms are all standard rooms. Four units with small kitchens are outside the main building. The family room, wheelchair friendly room, cottage and yellow room are for those guests looking for something else than the standard rooms inside the house. Breakfast is available. We advise you not to miss this well prepared, tasty experience.
Area Info
Lying on the banks of the Mooi River (which means 'Beautiful River' in Afrikaans) Potchefstroom is described as a large academic town, bringing to mind a pretty, tree-lined village teeming with students.
Potchefstroom is indeed home to the popular North-West University, formerly known as the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education and a buzzing student life. It is also home to other tertiary institutions and numerous schools. This combines with a strong farming economy and a generous hospitality sector.
Potchefstroom was the first town north of the Vaal River and has a historical legacy that includes the largest oak tree avenue in the southern hemisphere and various national monuments like the old police station building, Heimat building, the magistrate’s office, the old gunpowder house and various churches worth visiting. The Edwardian City Hall, together with that of Krugersdorp, is the oldest existing city hall north of the Vaal River.
The town is approximately 120km from Johannesburg, 50km from Klerksdorp and 45 km from Parys.
