Kleinrivier Mountain Escapes is a paradise for hikers, birders and those who simply want to break away for a while. We have not introduced any of the big five so it is safe to walk and explore our many trails on your own. The scenery in the Kleinrivier gorge is spectacularly beautiful and there are frequent pools to tempt you in on a hot summer day. You may even encounter klipspringer, kudu, impala and wildebeest to name a few.
Explore the remote Winterhoek mountains while experiencing the Karoo fauna and flora by simply walking in the opposite direction. The mountains are clad in this unique flora comprising literally thousands of different fynbos species. Five species of antelope occur here naturally. Reptiles are king in this dry environment, most common are the 'Bloukop koggelmanders' which scuttle out of your way on the trails.
