Cofimvaba is a town in Chris Hani District Municipality in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The village is 80 km east of Queenstown on the route to Butterworth, in Thembuland.
The village of Cofimvaba derives its name from the Xhosa words "cofa", meaning to froth, and "mvaba", a goatskin bag for milk. This is the name of a nearby river which, after a heavy rainfall, is said to become swollen and frothy like a milk-bag.
