La Bastide Guesthouse
The charming rooms and self-catering cottages are tastefully decorated, perfect for an overnight stay, weekend break or longer getaway. The year-round beauty of the surroundings makes La Bastide an attractive destination to spend winter evenings around the fireplace or summer days in the pool. We are also just a short drive away from all the major wedding venues in the area including Leopard Lodge, Green Leaves, Red Ivory, Pecan Manor and Die ou Pastorie. The accommodation was designed to cater to the varied needs of the visitors to our area. Many of our guests attend weddings at nearby venues (Leopard Lodge, Red Ivory and Green Leaves amongst others), so need a place to spend the night. Others are looking for a break from the city and want to absorb the fresh air, tranquillity, and beautiful surroundings. The abundance of exciting activities in our area also attracts those who would like to take a few days out for some fun with friends and family.
Area Info
Magaliesberg (historically also known as Macalisberg or as the Cashan Mountains) is a mountain range extending west and north from Pretoria to just south of Pilanesberg, (see also Pilanesberg National Park), and extending for some 50 km east of Pretoria where it peters out just south of Bronkhorstspruit.
La Bastide offers charming and unique guest house accommodation in the valley of the timeless Magaliesberg mountain range, 15 minutes from Hartbeespoort Dam. The guest house is situated on an old farm, and the distinct countryside atmosphere still resonates in the gardens and architecture.
There are numerous ACTIVITIES and facilities that can be enjoyed in the Hartbeespoort vicinity, many of which are close by, and include pursuits such as cycling, hiking, golf, restaurants, a cheese farm, sightseeing, a health spa plus many others.
A cableway reaching to the top of the mountain range is located at Hartbeespoort Dam, providing sweeping views of the Magaliesberg and surrounding area.
