Markon River Lodge
Markon River Lodge is only one hour’s drive from Johannesburg. We offer a wide variety of accommodation options with fun-filled leisure activities for couples, families, or groups of people. We offer self-catering for both families and romantic couples. We have conference facilities with accommodation for 80 delegates.
Area Info
It is situated on the perennial Wilge River, which feeds the Loskop Dam and meanders along 6 km of riverfront, opening into large tranquil pools and fast flowing rapids along majestic cliff faces. The park is fully fenced with 2.4 m game fencing. The landscape varies from large grassy plains, hills, rock formations and cliff faces with beautiful scenery.
The following game species can be seen in the park; aardwolf, aardvark, baboon, brown hyena, caracul, jackal, grey duiker, impala, klipspringer, mountain reedbuck, steenbuck, vervet monkey, warthog, kudu, blesbuck, blue wildebeest, waterbuck, eland, red hartebeest, springbuck and zebra. Each chalet sleeps 2 persons with 2 single beds. These chalets are not self-catering, but is equipped with a kettle, coffee & tea, small fridge and microwave. a Communal braai areas is available at the pool / recreational area of the lodge.
Kingfisher Deluxe Chalet

King Fisher is a smaller private unit. Ideal for a couple or even a parent couple with a child. The bedroom is furnished with a double bed and the lounge has a double sleeper couch. The bathroom is fitted with a bath, shower, basin and toilet.
River Camp

A camp with 5 luxury self-catering family chalets. Each chalet can sleep 6 in two en-suite twin bedrooms and a bunk bed in the living area for the 5th and 6th person. Each chalet has a fully equipped kitchen and braai facilities.
Tree Lodge

This thatched wooden tree house comprises of 3 bedrooms with beautiful views of the river. The 3 rooms are connected to the kitchen area , Fire Pit and braai . All 3 bedrooms are private but rented out as 1 whole 6 sleeper unit, with 2 bathrooms.

River Villa 2 is a 10-sleeper unit near the water's edge and is situated between River Villa 1 & 3. It consists of a large open-plan lounge, dining room, and full kitchen area fitted with a microwave, kettle, fridge, and gas stove.
