Melville Gap
Melville Gap Guesthouse is a modern and welcoming guesthouse that has been renovated with Melville heritage of arts and culture in mind. Located on the edge of Melville, it has a bit of both worlds – a quiet street as well as close proximity to all the sites Melville has to offer. The guesthouse consists of the 4 stylishly renovated bedrooms in the Main house as well as two self-catering units in a separate building for those that prefer a bit more privacy as they have their own entrances. The open-plan lounge and dining area can easily accommodate a small private or corporate function for up to 10-15 guests. In the evenings, it is a perfect place for a cosy evening watching a game on a large TV or reading a book. It’s close proximity to UJ and Wits universities makes it a popular place for academics and their families. Situated just off Beyers Naude, the guesthouse is easily reachable by the major highways.

Situated a stone's throw from the Bohemian suburb of Melville's famous 7th Street with its vibey atmosphere, pavement cafes, cozy restaurants, antique/vintage stores and cocktail clubs, we are in the perfect location to explore Johannesburg at day or at night.
We would love to meet people from all over the world and especially Africa. Our focus is entirely on guest satisfaction but also with a twist, we want you to experience home away from home. We will not be in your space unless you request to have company to show you around our beautiful town.
If you feel like a brisk walk, Melville koppies nature reserve is only a few minutes away. Emmarentia botanical gardens, Mandela bridge, Johannesburg art gallery are all worth a visit. The Sunday market in Rosebank is a must for stocking up on African art and craft or for gifts to take back home.
A large modern shopping centre, Cresta, is only about 10mins away by car. A fitness centre with weight and cardio training is also round the corner.
