Nooitgedacht Trout Lodge provides comfortable, stylish accommodation in 9 en-suite bedrooms that are luxuriously furnished with double beds and single beds. Some of the rooms are located by stairs, and have cosy open log fireplaces, baths, and private entrances, all enjoying views of the lake, garden and surroundings. The lodge offers hearty home-cooked meals that are prepared by dedicated chefs in a traditional open-plan kitchen and served in the congenial dining hall. The state-of-the-art wine cellar offers a wide range of white and red wine, and located under the dining area, it is definitely worthy of a visit. The old dry-stone barn, previously the original farmhouse, has been renovated with facilities such as a full-size billiard table, a Satellite Television, and a well-stocked bar. The lodge offers some of the finest trout water in the country; whether fishing the Spekboom River or in any of the three lakes, the waters are well stocked with trout to challenge the most astute and beginner alike. Various activities such as hiking, clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, 4x4 trails, tours of the hatchery, picnics, and sailing can be enjoyed and guests can view soaring eagles, Cape Vultures, a wealth of indigenous flora and prolific bird life, and various game raning from leopard, kudu, otters, and the reclusive brown hyena. Nooitgedacht Trout Hatchery is a commercial trout-producing facility situated on the Spekboom river in the heart of the Mount Anderson Catchment Reserve. The hatchery has been operating for more than 50 years and supplying some of South Africa’s best quality trout to fishing venues. Nooitgedacht’s mission is to provide blemish-free, happy angling trout to venues which can in turn offer some of the best fishing opportunities to anglers.

Lydenburg, officially known as Mashishing, is a town in Thaba Chweu Local Municipality, on the Mpumalanga highveld, South Africa. It is situated on the Sterkspruit/Dorps River tributary of the Lepelle River at the summit of the Long Tom Pass. It has a long, rich history, ranging from AD 500 to the present.
