Oak Lane Bed & Breakfast
The rooms are all well-equipped and feature portable fans for summer, as well as wall-mounted heaters and electric blankets in winter. Each room has tea/coffee making facilities as well as refrigerators, microwave ovens irons, Flat Screen TV.. Guest toiletries are supplied. Two of the rooms is also wheelchair accessible. Breakfast is available at R90 additional and is served in our dining room. Each room has either Double or three-quarter size beds and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The Twin Room Self Catering also has a fully equipped kitchen where guests can prepare their meals. An extra bed can be added by prior arrangement. All rooms are non-smoking.

Maclear is named after Sir Thomas Maclear, an astronomer at the Cape Observatory from 1834 to 1879.
Maclear is a picturesque town located in the foothills of the southern Drakensberg Mountain Range in the Eastern Cape, well known for its breathtaking scenery, crop, dairy and stock-farming as well as trout fishing. The town is situated on the R56 between Ugie and Elliot, and on the R396 between Rhodes joining the N2 between Mthatha and Mount Frere.
The town lies in the Mooi River valley near the Pot and Tsitsa Rivers, which eventually becomes the Umzimvubu River, entering the Indian Ocean at Port St Johns.
Maclear is famous for its wild trout, Rock art (San Paintings), dinosaur footprints and spectacular scenery. Annual festivities include the Trout River Festival during April/May and Kapaailand Classic golf tournament during November.
The first time visitor will find that the town's main street is a very busy business hive, but escape to the side streets or one of the B&B's or the sporting facilities and enjoy the breathtaking view of the mountains and fresh mountain air.
