*Deposit: 50% deposit is required to secure a booking (depending on advanced date and season) with balance 2 weeks before arrival. *Please contact us for our bank details for EFT payments. We do have Master and Visa card facility on site. *Cancellation policy: 30 days or less before arrival, no refund. If cancelled within reasonable time to allow for replacement bookings, deposits will be refunded, minus transfer and commission cost. *We supply serviced, catered and self catered accommodation for weekdays, weekends & holidays. *We pride ourselves as being a nature friendly venue, hence our investment in solar energy. *Please abide by our rules, according to understandable international standards. We don’t allow smoking indoors. *Bookings can be done ‘On Line’ on our website. *For group bookings, longer stays on weekends or holidays, or repeat bookings (Friends of Paardeplaats), please contact Brian or Gerda to negotiate a reduced tariff. *If we have availability, on weekends, and at short notice, we do not mind letting out our facility to couples, or small families, at a reduced tariff. Please discuss this with Brian before making an ‘On Line’ weekend booking. *Catered Meals: Breakfasts @ R100 pp and 3 course Dinners @ R250 pp (drinks excluded). Please pre-book before hand. For special dietary requirements, contact Brian. *Banking Details: Contact Brian or Gerda. *We have a strict ‘Covid 19’ protocol, to protect both yourselves and ourselves. Masks must be worn on arrival and when in contact with staff. Temperatures will be taken on arrival and each morning. We practise routine sanitation and cleaning of all surface areas several times a day. Staff wear masks when interacting with guests. *Our staff members, Lucas, Lungisile & Velli will help you to move in on arrival. They normally arrive at 08h00 each morning. They will clean up in the kitchen, repack the fires, and will make up the beds before 11h00. If they are required beyond that please let Brian know before hand – the cost would be R125 per staff member for the day (until 15h00). *Fire Wood: We supply sufficient wood per day for normal use, for the stove, the braai area and the fire place – If you require more wood, please ask Lucas and he will supply you with suitable wood at R60 per wicker basket.
Area Info
Paardeplaats being 500ha in extent, was proclaimed a Nature Reserve, in 1956, and is a bird lovers paradise. We also have a variety of small game including oribi, grey rheebuck, mountain reed buck, duiker, klipspringers, blesbuck, eland and kudus. There are also baboons, porcupines, honey badgers, brown hyenas, black-backed jackals, rooikatte and at times, sometimes frequently, even leopards. We boarder on the Gustav Klingbiel Nature Reserve on our western boundary.
