Pheasant's Rest Guest House
Pheasant’s Rest is situated in the quiet suburb of Aviary Hill, Newcastle, where a warm welcome awaits you from the hosts. The bed and breakfast offers a comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding attractions and facilities in and around the town. Each individually decorated room features a private en-suite bathroom. In addition, each room contains a TV with selected DStv channels plus Kyknet, air-conditioning, a kitchenette with a wash-up area and tea- and coffee-making facilities, and a private entrance. Some rooms have views of the courtyard and/or the communal swimming pool. Breakfast is served in the dining area where guests can also enjoy dinner or lunch at the onsite restaurant. Guests can enjoy socialising in the entertainment area where you will find a bar, snooker table, big screen television with full DStv channels as well as a private lounge with a library. Pheasant’s Rest also has a squash court. The guest house has a hall to hire for special events or corporate functions of up to 60 people. Free secure parking is available.
Area Info
Newcastle is the third largest city and urban centre in Kwazulu Natal and is moderately industrial and was founded in 1864 and was named after the Earl of Newcastle, who was the Colonial Secretary in Queen Victoria’s Government at that time.
There are quite a few attractions to visit in the area, such as the 1000-hectare game park Chelmsford Nature Reserve, renowned for carp and bass fishing; monuments and memorials, museums, and various outdoor activities.
