Welcome to ROAM, a private game reserve for those with a deeper and more profound connection to nature. ROAM PRIVATE GAME RESERVE has been set-up to create a safe haven for wildlife to enjoy the open space of the Karoo. Steeped in history and diverse wildlife, the game reserve encompasses more than 5000 hectares of pristine Karoo veld. ROAM is now a sanctuary for many of the species which historically roamed the vast Karoo plains. Set in a magnificent landscape ideal for world class photography, game and bird sightings and genuine eco-tourism. Today ROAM offers traditional bush luxury accommodation in a 5-bedroom catered lodge. Enjoy early morning game drives or for those who struggle to stay still for too long, there are a number of outdoor activities and adventures to choose from.

Area Info

The focus at Roam is to restore, ‘rewild’ and conserve the delicate biome of the area and rehabilitate a variety of wildlife that once thrived in the Great Karoo’s arid conditions. There are a number of conservation activities on the reserve, and various projects that guests are welcome to get involved in.

ROAM is a malaria-free game reserve and is close to Cape Town, Oudtshoorn and the N2 Garden Route.
