Rocky Ridge Lodge

Rocky Ridge Lodge is situated in the scenic foothills of the Southern Drakensberg. We offer comfortable, convenient overnight accommodation to the traveller who is fortunate enough to find himself in this spectacular part of KwaZulu-Natal. Accommodation is offered in large, comfortable en-suite rooms. Each room has a fan, heater, tea and coffee station, and a TV with DStv. For the workaholics, a desk with a study lamp and chair are provided. All basic necessities, such as linen, towels and soap are supplied. We specialize in business functions, conferences and weddings. Rocky Ridge Lodge is proud of its 2 conference centres, one of which caters for 16 to 20 delegates, and the other seating 120 to 150 delegates. We have an immaculate braai facility on our deck for those who wish to have a traditional South African meal. Relax and unwind after a long day in our cosy, casual bar or sit down to a delicious home-cooked meal in our buffet-style dining room.

The little town of Kokstad sits on the boundary between KwaZulu Natal and the Eastern Cape, nestled in the heart of East Griqualand. Kokstad lies in the shadow of Mount Currie on the outer slopes of the Drakensberg. Kokstad has the N2 Highway south of the town's CBD. The R56 leads from Kokstad to Cedarville (45 km), Matatiele (68 km) and Maluti leading to the border of Lesotho. The R617 is also a bisecting route leading from Kokstad to Underberg (109 km), Swartberg (41 km) and Bulwer (147 km). The N2, the national route, leads from Kokstad to the east to Port Shepstone (175 km), Durban (380 km) and to the south Mount Ayliff (57 km), Mthatha (180 km), East London (419 km) and Qonce (447 km). Kokstad is 10 km from the Eastern Cape border on the N2.
