Saints at Sea

Saints at Sea is a modern, newly built, clean and well-equipped hi-ceilinged self-catering home ideally located in Dwarskersbos, with a double garage. The 150 in-a-straight-line steps to the pristine beach area are just far enough to remove most of the bite from the sea breeze. The house can accommodate up to 6 guests and contains 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a guest toilet, an open-plan kitchen, a lounge and a dining area. The first bedroom contains a king-size bed, and an ensuite bathroom with a shower, toilet and twin washbasins. The second bedroom contains a king-size bed that can be converted to 2 single beds. The third bedroom contains 2 single beds. These two bedrooms share a bathroom with a bath and a shower. Uncapped fibre internet ensures that work-holidays are possible, with a Nespresso Pod coffee machine ready to keep the flow of proper coffee going. And an icemaker for an uninterrupted flow of ice. A smart TV is permanently connected to the web, allowing you to log into your own online subscriptions such as Netflix, YouTube, TuneIn, DSTV and similar. Remote controlled ceiling fans ensure comfortable rest during warm nights, whilst electric blankets ensure the same during cold spells. An air conditioner in the living room takes care of sweltering summer days. The high-end Plamen Nera woodstove, an indoor fireplace (wood supplied by us) and the braai (barbeque) ensure that the weather will never come between you and your fire. Braai outside, if the weather permits. Believe it if you want, but there are such days. A modern top loader washing machine, dishwasher and other contemporary appliances will aid you to have a relaxed stay. A 5-plate gas stove/ electric oven enables gourmet cooking with Baccarat pots to give life to your cooking fantasies, with a 6-seater dining table to enjoy meals and family time. An air fryer takes care of quick meals. The local restaurants (Dwarskersbos and Velddrif) provide for a unique culinary experience. And the seafood dishes are arguably as fresh as you would ever taste. Now. Imagine that you are seated on our garden bench. It is sunset, and you are facing west or east, the skies magnificently coloured. Take a deep breath and let it out slowly. Repeat until you feel the spirit of the West Coast touch your soul. Daily grind and concerns will begin to fade, making you wonder where time disappears to every day… Take time out to discover the limitless distance of clean, unspoilt beach, and that would be in both directions. Simply enjoy the beauty and quiet of every sunrise, and sunset, or the mist that shrouds and changes the landscape into a mysterious place. A beautiful earthly place where you may be closer to a Saint than most other places…

Area Info

Our beach stretches from Laaiplek, 11km to Dwarskersbos and almost 40km north towards Elands Bay. Making it the longest uninterrupted sandy beach in South Africa.

In addition to the scenic backdrop of beautiful beaches, this area is known for its warm hospitality. The rich heritage and culture of the West Coast is celebrated in its homes, food, arts, crafts and the friendly smiles of the locals. The natural beauty of the area is irresistible, offering authentic West Coast living. The unpretentious little town of Velddrift situated at the mouth of the Bergriver where it spills into the Atlantic ocean and is the heart of the fishing industry on the West Coast is 11km's away from Dwarskersbos. The area is home to an abundance of bird species most famously the pink flamingos. The area offers great spots for fishing, crayfish diving, water skiing on the Berg river, paddling, bird watching, 4x4 trails, and much more.

Dwarskersbos is less than two hours drive from Cape Town International Airport. Vredenburg is 25 minutes from Dwarskersbos, providing convenient access to a private hospital, a state-of-the-art shopping mall, "The Weskus Mall" offering restaurants, Woolworths, Checkers, Pick & Pay, Food Lovers, clothing stores, Dischem, and Clicks to mention a few.
