Whether you’re looking to relax by the lake or enjoy the outdoors, our onsite lake provides a wonderful spot for catch-and-release fishing. Bring your fishing rods and spend the day surrounded by nature. In addition to the tranquil setting, there’s so much to do nearby, from beer tasting and mountain biking to bird watching, fishing, and rowing. Springholm is nestled in the heart of the Natal Midlands, boasting two large dams that are home to both brown and rainbow trout. Our largest dam spans 3.5 hectares, providing an ideal setting for fly fishing on a catch-and-release basis. We emphasize sustainable fishing practices, with strict use of barbless hooks only.
For those who enjoy nature walks, our property offers peaceful trails with beautiful views. Additionally, just a short distance away, you can visit the internationally acclaimed gardens at Brahman Hills—one of only two partner gardens in South Africa of the Royal Horticultural Society. Enjoy a relaxing picnic on their grounds or a delicious lunch while overlooking the award-winning gardens.
Adjacent to us is the Eagles Crest game farm, where you can experience fascinating game viewing. Depending on the season, you might spot zebra, hartebeest, blesbok, wildebeest, and eland grazing peacefully on the land.
