The Steenbok Plaas Kothuise are luxurious self-catering cottages situated on a 65-hectare working Farm and Game Park, at the foot of the Witzenberg Mountains, between Tulbagh and Ceres. Only 1 hour and 30 minutes from Cape Town, it is a comfortable scenic drive after a long week’s work or even a quick mid-week break. With all the facilities and amenities you need for a well-deserved break, these cottages will impress you with luxurious finishes and breathtaking views of the Witzenberg Mountains. Each cottage has its own private wood-fired hot tub/splash pool. Whether you are looking for a winter break away or braving the hot summer, the Sunbird and Kingfisher cottages will not disappoint. With free, uncapped Wi-Fi internet, you could easily work from here. The farm also offers 2 communal swimming pools, to be shared with other guests. Perfect to cool off in the hot summer months. Please remember to bring your swimsuits and swimming towels when visiting our cottages. Pets are welcome and the cottages offer enclosed areas with enough grass for your 4 legged companions to enjoy, however, strict rules of the Game Park do apply. Why not sit back, relax and enjoy a sundowner while you look onto springbuck, red hartebeest and zebras grazing in the fields below the back deck, while on the front verandah, you can view the mountains turning pink at sunset. Wolseley is situated in the picturesque Breede River Valley of the Western Cape Province of South Africa. The Wolseley area is rich in vineyards, orchards, cattle farms and wheat fields. Wolseley was established in 1875 as Ceres Road Station and in 1910 named after Sir Garnet Wolseley, a British Governor in Natal.

Wolseley is situated on a natural watershed that divides the Berg River (renowned for the annual Berg River Marathon) and the Breede River (one of the largest navigable rivers in South Africa).

The town is surrounded by the Waaihoek mountains, Witzenmountains and Waterfall mountains and is unique in that it can be accessed via any one of four splendid passes: Du Toitskloof Pass, Bainskloof Pass, Nuwekloof Pass and Michells Pass.
