Swartberg Country Manor

The Main House offers 11 comfortable en-suite guest rooms with a comfortable lounge. The lounge extends onto the original farmhouse veranda, offering breathtaking views of the Swartberg Mountains. Historical House: This historical dwelling is dated 1864. The original owners reportedly played host to Gen Barry Hertzog, at the time Prime Minister of the Union of South Africa, who stayed in one of the rooms in this house. It offers 4 enchanting en-suite guest rooms, overlooking a fig orchard with magnificent mountain views. Every effort has been made to retain the original "look and feel" of the farmhouse, with its "Brooky lace", wooden floors and ceilings, adding timeless ambiance to the character of this little piece of history. Cango Cottages: A further nine rooms are set in three separate true Karoo Style Cottages which forms part of the guest house. Each cottage contains three independant rooms, each leading onto a comfortable veranda - complete with built-in-braai (barbeque) facility - overlooking the Swartberg Mountains. These cottages are not available for self-catering accommodation. Honeymoon suite: The original "bakhuis" (bakery) was transformed into a dreamy honeymoon suite. The perfect setting to birth fond memories.
