Located in the heart of the bushveld near Thabazimbi, Thaba eNtle is little more than a three-hour drive from Johannesburg and two and a half hours from Pretoria on well-maintained roads. We are home to exotic game and our accommodation and entertainment areas promise a private, exhilarating, and memorable bush-living experience.
Area Info
Thabazimbi, meaning ‘Mountain of Iron’, is situated in the Waterberg Region of the Limpopo Province in South Africa. The town is located at the feet of the Ysterberg and is surrounded by the Witfonteinrand and Boshofberg with the magnificent Kransberg in the background. The name of this town comes from the discovery of a lucrative iron ore reef in the area in 1919. Thabazimbi was proclaimed in 1953 after the full-scale production of iron and steel in the 1930s. Another leading economic activity in this town is cattle ranching.
The Marakele National Park, 20 km northeast of the town, is situated in the heart of the Waterberg Mountains and is characterised by contrasting mountain landscapes as well as a variety of wildlife. Marakele National Park is the home of some of the Tuli Elephants. In 1999, these were the elephants that were caught up in a controversy involving animal cruelty in South Africa.
Thabazimbi made headlines in 2003 as the site of Kamp Staaldraad, the Springboks' infamous rugby training camp prior to the Rugby World Cup.

This wooden container Studio provides a luxury bushveld experience, overlooking the Thaba eNtle private boutique game lodge. The Pods have wood-fired hot tubs, are fully solar operational & self-catering. There is no microwave or oven in the kitchenette.
The Tented Log Cabin

You are obliged to enjoy relaxing on the hanging mat that stretches over the private pool & there is a wooden walkway that overlooks the surrounding farms. The unit has a full kitchen with a refrigerator and stove.
The Lodge

The Lodge can be set up as Double or Twin beds. The rooms are fully air-conditioned and each room has a bathroom with a shower only as well as an outdoor shower. The unit has a fully fitted kitchen as well as a lapa. The Lodge is child friendly.
The Shack

The Shack is an open-plan unit with a queen bed and a kitchenette. There is a separate bathroom which has a shower only and also the unit has a balcony with outdoor furniture to enjoy the amazing views of the surrounding farms.
The Farm House

Comprising of 6 separate bedrooms, 1 of which is a family room, ample seating inside and outside, kids play area, pool and outside boma. This is the perfect location for large events, conferencing & families.
