Situated on 4 hectares of lush forested hillside bordering on a private game reserve where wildlife can be spotted, Umfolozi River Lodge is the ideal getaway for both businessman and family alike. While the location is approximately 30 minutes from St. Lucia, Richards Bay, Mapelane beach and the renowned Imfolozi / Hluhluwe Game Reserve makes us the perfect base from which to explore all that Zululand has to offer. Only 200m from Umfolozi Park Run. NB We have limited power at the moment There are power for lights, fan and to charge devices. The generator will provide extra power during 7h - 8h and 17h - 20h20, then the water pressure is strong enough to bath or shower. The Umfolozi River Lodge is based only a half an hour drive from some of the most challenging and vegetated 4x4 areas in South Africa. There are obstacles and hills with difficulty levels ranging from 1 to 6, where guests can put their vehicle to the ultimate test. The establishment offers trips for the whole family or for advanced drivers. If arranged, a friendly guide will be able to supply guests with anything from drinks, food, professional advice to recovery assistance. Guests are welcome to bring their own vehicle.
Area Info
Mtubatuba, which means ‘he who was pummeled out’, is a small town north of Richards Bay and close to the entrance of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park.
