Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge
Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge overlooks Drakensberg's Amphitheatre. It's the trailhead to hike to the top of Tugela Falls and back in one day. The Lodge has over 80kms of day-hikes from the front door and is a hiking paradise. Mountain Biking along some of the trails is also popular. The Lodge has three standards of accommodation with the premier en-suite rooms offering floor-to-ceiling views onto the Amphitheatre. There is a selection of standard units that have interleading doors, allowing families to create double room units. Meals are served in the restaurant, and there's a convivial pub and lounge with TV are open to all guests. Cappucino is available along with the Lodge's legendary hot chocolate.

Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge is situated in the Northern Drakensberg, just below the famous Amphitheatre and Sentinel Peak. The Lodge is accessed by driving through the town of Phuthaditjhaba, and up a tarred road to the Lodge. The most famous hike goes from the Sentinel Peak Car Par, up the Chain Ladders, to the top fo Tugela Falls, the highest waterfall in the world. There are up to 80kms of hiks from the Lodge front door, including a range into Royal Natal.
